What would the legal ramifications to taking bolt cutters to my stepmom's storage?

I put my bed and t.v. with some boxes in my stepmom's storage. These are things that belong to me and my husband. I did this because he left the country (Military) and i went to stay with my mom. Now that he's back we want to get these things out. My stepmom won't allow us to do this now. What would be the ramifcations if I just went to the storage and took bolt cutters to the lock and got my stuff? Can I get a police escort? Don't we have a right to our things that we entrusted to her?
