Are skeptics generally open or closed minded?
I would agree with your definition of skepticism. For example, the global warming "THEORY" is something I am skeptical of. It's because both sides (scientists, "experts" and people in general) have valid points and I'm not ready to lean one way or the other yet. I am skeptical that it is irreversible, mostly man-made etc. I just need more time for more facts to come out on BOTH sides. So I am open minded about it, but I'm open to the idea just not 100% convinced. The more people "shout" at me about it though, the less convinced I am. Lastly, as an individual I am willing to voluntarily apply certain "green" solutions to my daily life. However, the more I hear the Federal Government is getting involved and trying to push/force legislation or "compliance", the more unsure and leery I am. Make sense? Anyhow, I would agree with your definition.
