Backpacking in Grand Teton late August 2010. Crowded, money, how much?

I plan on doing this as a 1 week back pack. Is realize there are established campsite but what are the regulations on back country camping? How much can I expect this to cost aside from airfare? What are the best books to read to plan this properly? THANKS
