Why won't my period go away?!?
It makes sense that your period would stop when you started the pill again, because the pill contains progesterone. Normally, at the time bleeding begins, your progesterone is at its lowest level. So the sudden addition of progesterone stopped the bleeding. But only temporarily--it was not a high enough dose to prevent your lining from shedding. But it's likely a high enough dose to slow down the shedding, which is why you've had your period for so long--I am uming that the bleeding has been relatively lighter for this long period of time. That is, it's not been like your heaviest days usually are. It should taper off and stop, and you'll go back to the way things were when you were on the pill before. But you should call your doctor and make sure that everything is OK, and not take the word of someone on the internet.
