Is labret piercing painful?

i really like how lip piercings look,but what's stopping me of not going is to imagine the pain.i have been hospitalized twice(labor & gall bladder surgery)and i had to go through alot of needles and im not scared.but imagining its on the lip i really think it hurts.i get my eyes super watery when i bit my tongue that's why i think it might hurt.
