Amidst all that is going on, How come we have not heard anything from VP Cheney in the last few months?

We had a wall street meltdown, the Republican convention, i mean has he even met Sarah Palin? I mean the media hasn't even talked about what Cheney thinks about Palin! Bush is out there even though he is on lame duck status, but Cheney is no where to be found. I can't even find an article about him. Last I heard he was going to intervene in the Georgian Crisis but nothing even came out from that.
