For a leisure trip, which would you choose, Japan or South Korea?

I love both countries so much. I love both their culture and entertainment industry and I'm dying to visit at least one of these countries as soon as possible. I don't mind the airfare, but I'm more concerned about the cost of expenses when I'm there already. Where will I be able to enjoy more and spend less? Please help me out. Thanks in advance!
