Are umbrella atoos expensive? i want one thats about 3 years old. how much are they?

my umbrella atoo was almost $1000 when i got him as a baby in december. it's not just the cost of the bird that's expensive but the upkeep too. i spend well over $150 each month on food and toys for him. he loves to cuddle but if you don't pay enough attention to him he will scream! and it will drive you nuts. umbrella atoo can not talk very well. mine says, hi baby, Obi, good morning, good boy and a few other things but it's not very clear. its a muffled sound. unless you are living in the place you plan of spending the next 10, 20 even 50 years you should NOT get this bird. because they do live so long you need to make sure you can care for it for it's entire life time! if you are living with your parents now what happens when you move? most apartments and rentals wont allow this type of bird due to the noise! unless you will buy a home it's not a good idea. and having other kinds of birds does not exactly prepare you for a atoo.
